J.M., a minor. On February 5, 2012, seven-year-old J.M. was skiing at Keystone Ski Resort in Summit County, Colorado. He was wearing a helmet. Mark Lincenberg skied into J.M. from uphill and behind. J.M. suffered a right femur fracture, an abrasion to his left cheek, and a concussion. His right femur fracture had to be surgically repaired, under general anesthesia, with internal fixation on February 6, 2012. J.M. had to undergo, on August 14, 2012, a second surgery, under general anesthesia, to remove the hardware. Jake’s medical expenses were $71,807.06. J.M. fully returned to school and his normal day-to-day activities. The case settled for $252,000.
