A Nielsen audit this past winter showed the site was visited by 2.2 million unique monthly visitors.
But many in the ski industry argue that the web traffic is merely generated by the snow report app that radio stations and other news outlets load onto their site, and the traffic reports count those as page views on the website. It remains to be seen how the website will be altered to best serve the Vail Resorts conglomerate. At least the website will not wind up like, now an abandoned site with stale information.
