On Saturday, officials from Sugarbush and the Mad River Glen resorts announced the details of the first partnership in the 54 years since Sugarbush opened just south of the then-decade-old Mad River Glen. Officials announced cooperation agreements that will give skiers access to all three mountains – Sugarbush, Glen Ellen and Mad River Glen.
Five years after Sugarbush opened, the Glen Ellen resort opened on the same stretch of mountains above the Mad River Valley. Sugarbush and Glen Ellen merged in 1979.
The new “Ski The Valley Plus” ticket is available to skiers who book extended ski-and-stay packages. It includes unrestricted access to all three mountains along with special offers at theaters, restaurants and shops throughout the Mad River Valley.
There’s also a new “Threesome College Pass” that gives full-time college students unrestricted access to Mad River Glen as well as Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen. The new pass costs students $359 if bought before Nov. 7.
Special rates also are being offered for skiers under the age of 30. One of them, Sugarbush’s “For20s Pass,” gives unrestricted access to both of Sugarbush’s mountains for $419. They can “Add Mad” to get access to Mad River Glen midweek for $80. Skiers under 30 can also consider a Mad River Glen-specific midweek pass for $199.
