Jessica Grigg, age 17, was skiing down Eagle's Swoop, an open intermediate slope at Wintergreen Ski Resort in Nelson County, Virginia when she was run over by a large diesel powered track snow groomer.
The jury awarded $8.3 million in damages, the largest verdict ever awarded by a jury in the United States in a ski case. Click here to learn more.

The case of Nguyen v. Stecher was a medical malpractice case resulting in a wrongful death. The jury awarded the family $1.3 Million in damages - and, following this case and others, the State Board pulled Dr. Stecher's license to practice law. Read more here.
