A 67-year-old man from Cedar Grove, New Jersey was pronounced dead on Monday, January 20, 2013 after colliding with a tree at Park City Ski Resort. The man, William Kivet, was a retired school teacher and was skiing with a friend at the resort. After his collision, efforts to save him failed and he was declared dead after being transported by ski patrol to the bottom of the mountain.
Witnesses said that Kivet appeared to be skiing in control and conditions at the resort were good. To determine the cause of death, an autopsy will be performed.
