A 60-year-old Colorado skier was paralyzed after a snowboarder hit him at Beaver Creek, on April 8th. The snowboarder then took off leaving the victim unconscious. The victim is still recovering at Denver Health Medical Center and listed in fair condition.
Under the Colorado Ski Safety Act, you must stay on the scene and give your name and information to a ski employee if you’re in an accident. Eagle County Sheriff’s Office has released a sketch of the snowboarder and is still conducting an active investigation. Fox31 News interviewed Jim Chalat regarding the increase in hit and run accidents on Colorado slopes.
