Colorado’s Echo Mountain is expected to open to the public this December for the first time in three years. The resort will again be the closest public area to Denver, located just outside of Evergreen about 35 miles west of Denver.

Three years ago the resort was sold to private owner Nora Pykkonen as part of a sealed auction. Pykkonen converted the resort into a private alpine ski facility primarily for use by the Front Range Ski Club. Under the continued management of the Front Range Ski Club, the new Echo Mountain has partnered with SNOW Operating, a Boulder-based company that’s created a new method for ski and snowboard lessons called Terrain Based Learning. The resort is also partnering with Christy Sports as its go-to for rental equipment. Echo will continue to provide private ski racing training during evening hours and early mornings on weekends.

The resort will open to season pass holders and day visitors this December 10th with a renewed focus on the family and beginner guest.
