The Colorado Ski & Snowboard Expo is being held this weekend in Hall A of the Colorado Convention Center, 14th and Stout in downtown Denver. It opens today at noon to 10 p.m., 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Expo admission is $12 for adults and $10 for kids with coupons. Kids 12 and under are free. Coupons are available in The Denver Post, any Colorado Ski & Golf store or online at www.skisnowboardexpo.com.
This weekend is officially the last chance to get early-season pass deals and Labor Day gear prices at the 22nd annual ski expo. The 20,000 square feet of the Colorado Convention Center is filled with 30 tractor-trailer loads of skis, snowboards, boots, accessories and apparel. Prices are guaranteed to be the lowest anywhere, with offers to match even online prices, including shipping.
While many Colorado resorts will be promoting last-chance season-pass deals, the expo is as much a celebration as a shopping opportunity. Winter Park is hosting a kid slope to introduce tykes to sliding. Burton’s Riglet Park also offers first-timers the feel of snowboarding. Snow enthusiasts of all ages can run a timed obstacle course, ride mountain boards, scale the climbing wall and even test their curling skills.
